How was your July 4th, 2014 this past weekend?

I was talking to a colleague who stated,

"The day was very low key, but I enjoyed it!"

 

That seems to be the truth for a lot of people. Whether it is because you did not have money to travel or you just enjoyed staying home with family I hope it was a great day!

She's one hundred!

This is what I woke up to today!

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A pre-dawn earthquake rolled across the Los Angeles basin on Monday, rattling nerves and shaking buildings along a 150-mile swath of Southern California but causing no major damage.

The 4.4-magnitude quake was centered 2 miles from Encino and 15 miles west-northwest of the downtown civic center, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Information obtained from MSN News

The Good Life for Less?

 

Recently  was looking through someone's stack of magazines and although she did not look like a day over 35, she had an AARP magazine. I thumbed through it for a moment and came upon an article, "The Good Life for Less." That definitely got my attention! 

 

 I reviewed it for a moment to find out about five cities where one could retire on a small income. This is how the article read. "Want to retire on $30,000 a year?"

Seafood Watch

So I was cruising by a table when I saw a phamphlet which read, "Seafood WATCH". Yes, I picked it up to read about Seafood recommendations.

Monterey Bay Aquarium states that we should
1) Ask businesses if they sell sustainable seafood and
2)Buy from the Best Choices list.

So there you have it:  A bit of health information for today
