The statewide median price of an existing, single-family detached home edged down 0.3 percent from September’s median price of $428,740 to $427,290 in October. October’s price was 25.3 percent higher than the revised $340,910 recorded in October 2012, marking the 16th straight month of double-digit annual gains.

I keep telling some friends of mine, if you are renting you are one of many. BUT, if you are paying rent, you probably can pay a mortgage. One lady I spoke to recently actually pays $350/month more than another friend of hers. However, she does not seem to mind forking out money to help pay for someone else's house. I could understand where she is coming from if she did not have decent credit, no job or a low end job, and no desire to own,

I appreciate this gardening experience described here. When I was in the fourth grade I got chosen to be in a community garden after school club. It was a fantastic opportunity I will never forget. I got picked up once a week and driven to my small but personal plot. 

There I would plant and water, pull and pluck until the end result was satisfaction and gratitude. I won an award for the cleanest and neatest garden. I was rewarded with a beautiful plaque and acknowledgment I will always be proud of.

I was thinking about all the people I know who lost their homes within the last few years. I spoke to a friend today who is anxiously waiting for her credit score to recover so she can get back into a home of her own. 

On a different note, a friend of mine gave me this cute little pink stuffed animal. It made me SMILE. She made it for the upcoming Annual Toy Drive I will host in December 2013. 

I know Christmas is not about toys. But, as a result of this event so many children will SMILE because somebody thought of them.

Whether you are hoping to purchase your own home one day or if you are feeling a bit down today just know that your situation is most likely temporal and many things are "subject to change."
